Family relationships are strong in America and Spain. Mother to daughter relationship are the strongest of them all. Respect is a key in all parties.
Women cherish time with their children in both America and Spain. Spain women don’t appreciate when men interrupt during the moments of time, being spent together. When time is spent with your mother, you soon become more and more like her. By women spending time with their children they can be assure they learn all the mother/wife characteristics needed to be a good mother and wife to their families when they grow older. Women want to set good examples so they keep their daughter near them so they aren’t learning from other women.
Women in America today don’t spend as much time with the children as women later in time did. Children have more activities and schooling available it makes family time harder to come by. Later, in the days women were stay at home mothers and wives but today that has changed. Women work just as much if not more than men in society today. This makes it harder to spend time together and do stuff as a family as they did in later time. Women greatly appreciate education given to children, unlike Spnglish women. Spanish women believe you should stay true to your culture and nothing more. Flor Moreno from Spanglish didn’t want her daughter, Christina Moreno, going to the private school so she made her stop. Christina had received a free scholarship but Flor thought it was best for her to stop going because she should stay true to her culture, not America's.
Spanish and American women today still want their children to follow their foot steps and be like them , they just don’t have as much time to teach them as they had back in later time. Time spent today with children is valued greatly from the parent and the child.
